We're keeping it digital in a paper happy world. My goal is to use technology tools to prepare all the digital learners in my 5th grade classes for the 21st Century. Stay tuned for ways we're using it... and please share the magic that happens in your classroom through a comment.

Google Art Project adds the White House
I was thrilled to see the White House added to the Google Art Project! In an article posted in USA Today, President Obama referred to the White House as the People's House believing it should be open to the public. Now you can take a virtual tour through the White House and get up and close with the art hanging thoughout the halls. When you visit the site, you'll have the opportunity to discover, share, watch a slideshow, or take a virtual tour. My favorite is the virtual tour- just click on the yellow man in the left sidebar to begin the museum view. Tour different rooms, move throughout the levels, then zoom in the artwork to examine the details of portraits of Washington, Lincoln, and Kennedy. What an opportunity to "Imagine the history as it unfolded." (Mrs. Obama)
